For nearly 30 years, ProInfoNet has helped more than 320 organizations save over $200 million on technology and network investments. That impact comes from the values that guide how we work every day:
As independent consultants, we are not tied to any vendor. That independence allows us to give you clear, unbiased advice.
We put your organization first. Our team works as your trusted advisor, tailoring each solution to your goals and resources.
We are committed to driving progress in communities by expanding connectivity, strengthening healthcare systems, and building reliable infrastructure.
These values have guided us from a home office in 1995 to the trusted advisors we are today.
Jim Rogers founded ProInfoNet from his home office to help companies improve efficiency and profitability through IT consulting.
ProInfoNet expanded its operations by opening its first office in Evergreen Woods, marking the start of 25+ years of company growth.
Jim Rogers helped create the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC), a non-profit supporting over 1,400 healthcare sites across New England. Governed by a board of directors, NETC aims to improve access to affordable and reliable telecommunications services for healthcare providers. In 2007, NETC won $24.7M from the FCC's Rural Health Care Pilot Program to build a network connecting all member locations.
ProInfoNet was selected to design, build, and manage the NETC network. This long-standing partnership remains a cornerstone of our healthcare IT consulting practice today.
Building on its work with NETC, ProInfoNet began offering consulting services to help healthcare organizations nationwide navigate the Healthcare Connect Fund (HCF) and secure subsidies for broadband and network infrastructure.
ProInfoNet launched a new consulting focus area, known as Mission Broadband, to help municipalities, electric co-ops, and regional coalitions close the digital divide and plan broadband infrastructure projects.
To meet growing demand for consulting and project management services, ProInfoNet opened a second office in downtown Portland. With offices in Bangor and Portland, we continue to expand our impact across New England and beyond.
Our values have shaped who we are today. Here’s a look at the people and milestones that defined our journey.
ProInfoNet was founded in 1995 by Jim Rogers in his home office in Bangor, Maine. Driven by a desire to strengthen communities through better communication systems, Jim drew on 14 years of IT experience to help businesses across New England address their technology needs.
Within three years, ProInfoNet moved into its first office. Over the next decade, the team partnered with organizations such as Maine Sea Coast Mission, the University of Maine, and the Bangor Daily News to expand connectivity and modernize IT systems.
In 2007, Jim identified gaps in federal funding for healthcare IT systems and began advocating for reform with local and state representatives. His efforts contributed to the creation of the Healthcare Connect Fund program and the Healthcare Connect Order, which cited his advocacy 22 times.
That same year, Jim helped establish the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC), a nonprofit dedicated to improving connectivity for rural and underserved healthcare organizations. Since 2011, ProInfoNet has served as NETC’s managing agent, designing, building, and maintaining the network that now supports more than 1,400 healthcare sites. This role laid the foundation for our deep expertise in healthcare connectivity, which remains a core focus of our consulting work today.
Continuing his mission to address nationwide IT disparities, Jim expanded ProInfoNet’s consulting work in 2019 with the launch of Mission Broadband. This initiative allowed ProInfoNet to support states, counties, and municipalities in closing broadband gaps. Since then, the effort has supported over 4 states, 52 counties, 1,500 towns, and 2.1 million residents, helping connect families, schools, and businesses across the U.S.
In 2025, ProInfoNet opened a second office in downtown Portland, expanding our regional presence and positioning us to serve clients across New England and beyond.
With teams now in both Bangor and Portland, we continue to advance our work in healthcare connectivity, broadband expansion, network infrastructure, and strategic planning. Our goal is to be the trusted advisors our clients rely on to strengthen technology and expand access in the communities they serve.
We serve clients nationwide from our offices in Bangor and Portland, Maine.
